grant for collaborative study of cns infections

The Save Our Sick Kids Foundation is pleased to award Dr. Tempe Chen of the Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital Long Beach and Dr. Thomas Walsh of the Cornell Medical School a grant for:

A Collaborative Study for Rapid Diagnosis and Therapeutic Monitoring of Invasive Fungal Infections in Immunocompromised Children with Cancer: Early Detection of CNS Mycoses.

This work will study early detection methods of a fungal infection in children undergoing cancer treatment, specifically in the brain and spine. Early detection of this infection will provide a better opportunity to cure this life-threatening infection.
